ABOUT ME

Hiiii! My name is Rebecca Christian, and I am a videographer and photographer currently living near Dallas, Texas. You can read all about my experience and view my work on the other pages, so how about I just tell you a little about myself?

If you're familiar at all with the DISC assessment, my personality aligns with ISCD, and I feel like that's helpful in understanding what I'm like. Essentially, I'm very upbeat and I love to work with people. I also consider myself to be funny, but if you disagree...I would rather not know about it (joking, but not really). I work hard at everything I do because I believe that my work should be done as unto the Lord, and I think that working hard and having fun can absolutely go hand-in-hand. Along those same lines, I've done solo work, but I really love working as a team with other people, especially in an environment where I can collaborate on ideas and learn from others.

Jesus is the Lord of my life and I owe everything I do to Him. I am so grateful for the ways in which He has gifted and grown me, and I want to glorify Him in all that I create through the opportunities that He gives me because I would not be who or where I am today without His goodness and direction in my life. With that being said, here's a small portion of my story:
I was born and raised in Texas (hence wearing a Dallas Cowboys sweatshirt during a freezing sunrise shoot in the photo to the left) and had not a clue what I wanted to do as a career or where I wanted to go to school. I had always loved taking photos and videos, but I think I really started to know what I wanted to do after editing a recap of a month-long trip to Hungary and becoming absolutely hooked on storytelling through video. I was planning on staying in Texas, but as a total plot twist, I moved across the country to Virginia, where I lived for five years, and attended Liberty University to earn my degree in Digital Media: Video. After three years of undergrad and two summers at an incredible internship, I was SO ready to find a job and get more video experience. However, I was influenced by some professors to apply to be a graduate student assistant where I would have to pursue a master's degree (in other words, the last thing I wanted to do). But, in taking that job, I learned so much about teaching and loved the opportunity to be the person that I had wished I had in undergrad. Now that I'm graduated, I currently freelance, serve at my local church doing photo and video work as needed, and volunteer with a larger church near me helping with larger-scale video projects.
I'm so grateful for the opportunities that I have been given and the people I've worked with that have grown me in ability, professionalism, character, leadership, organization, and so much more, and I'm even more excited about the future! Feel free to read more about my jobs and experience on my video and photo pages.

While my website shows various media work, I would encourage you to please reach out if you have any questions about me or my work as a very large portion of what I've created and worked on is unfortunately unable to be present in my portfolio. If there's anything else you'd like to see from me, don't hesitate to email me at rebeccachristian512@gmail.com. I'm looking forward to speaking with you!
